My wife and I were living in California and and just had a new baby.  My wife wanted to move back to Utah but the new baby made it hard to travel back and forth to go look at houses.

We had been looking online at homes for 5 months and couldn’t find anything we liked. We saw a lot of homes that were nice… but none that had everything we wanted, but none that spoke to us.  We were getting very frustrated to the point of giving up.

We explained to Justin everything that we were looking for and he said he had just the home in mind.

Later that day Justin emailed us a video tour of a house he shot while walking through and an offer. The house was perfect. It had everything we were looking for and it was right at the max of our price point.

 

We signed the offer and were under contract within 3 hours of Justin’s video tour email.

30 days later we closed on the house without ever seeing it.

When we arrived in Utah the house was beautiful, even better then the video.

I was driving through Salt Lake and their was a truck following me. It followed me down Murray-Holladay Rd to 700 east. It followed me when I turned left onto 4500 S and then it followed me onto I-15 South when I got on the freeway. Again on the free way everytime I switched lanes he switched lanes right behind me.

Then I got a phone call on my cell phone, it was Anthony. He wanted to talk to me about buying an investment property. (at the time my car was wrapped and had an ad about investment properties and my cell phone number).

 

We pulled over off the 90th South exit to talk.

 

I showed Anthony a house I knew about that was for sale but not listed on the market yet. I knew it was under priced. A few weeks later we went under contract on a house near 2100 South. Anthony bought this house for $169,000. He completed a $25,000 rehab on the property and 6 months later it appraised for $225,000.

 

Anthony was a new loan officer and we stayed in touch and did a number of transactions together over the years.

In spring of 2013 I helped Anthony find this house in Draper. It too is kind of a funny story.

 

The owner of the house was a friend of mine who I went to college with. I had been inside the house and was helping him list his house then at the last minute he chose to list the house with his cousin who had gotten his real estate license that month.

His cousin listed the house at a price I told him was too high, after a month of no activity they lowered the price to within Anthony’s budget.

I called Anthony and told him I had a house for him and to check his email in a couple of hours for a Video. When I pulled up at the house to take the video my friend was exiting out of his driveway.

He looked at me funny and said, “what are you doing here?”

I said, “I told you I was going to sale your house.”
